Sports Medicine

Michael J. Kellis, D.O., FAOASM, is the medical director of sports medicine for Precision Orthopedics. He is also a founding partner with Precision Orthopaedics and Vice President of the organization.

Dr. Kellis is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine and was one of only 200 board certified sports medicine specialists initially recognized in the United States. He graduated class valedictorian from Steubenville High School in 1977 and was a magma cum laude graduate of Bethany College.

Dr. Kellis received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree with honors from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985 and completed his internship and residency at Brentwood Hospital, now an affiliate of the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Kellis specializes in non-surgical orthopaedics and sports medicine.

Nationally respected as a leader in sports medicine, Dr. Kellis has been named to the “Who’s Who in Medicine” the “Who’s Who in the World” and the Consumers’ Research Council of America’s “America’s Top Physicians” in the field of Sports Medicine. He is also listed in “The Leading Physicians of the World” for 2020-2022. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Osteopathic Sports Medicine, serving four terms.

Michael Kellis is known as a philanthropist and community activist. In addition to working with high school and professional athletes, Dr. Kellis has served on many charitable organizations. He is the founder of Friends of St. Michael, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping churches and the needy throughout the world.
